Covid 19

The Birmingham Story

Jaskirt Boora is creating a collaborative narrative with the people of Birmingham. Through conversations with each subject, the chosen location of their portrait will reflect their story of lockdown and the pandemic.

In additional to the portraits and written stories Boora is collecting, there are also  photography workshops the subjects can take part in.

To make the project as collaborative as possible the subjects are being encouraged to take their own photographs of their lives.

Boora has shot the project on medium format. The images you see here are test shots taken during the project as it has progressed. This will be updated with the final sereis of images once the project concludes in October.

If you have a story to share please get in touch.

Covid 19 (the Birmingham story)  has been commissioned by GRAIN Projects, Birmingham City Council and Arts Council England.
